Sofia Yasmin is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Accounting at Alliance Manchester Business School.
Sofia’s research agenda and academic projects are linked to the governance and accountability processes of both commercial and non-profit organisations. She has been particularly interested in researching areas where governance and accountability relationships are either developing or directly challenged by pressurised and politicized institutional contexts. She has developed a substantial contribution to the literature and theorisation of accountability within this area. Her work is now expanding into a wider critique of the societal relevance of accounting.
Sofia's research has been published in Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, Financial Accountability and Management, among others. Sofia also acts as a review for various journals on an ad-hoc basis.
